BELOW ARE THE STOCKS I HAVE LOADED.......
As I've said before I scan the HOD list most of the time during the day but to take a break and give my eyes a rest every once in awhile I quickly flip through all these watchlists looking for stocks that are looking like they are ready to break new hods.
It's a great way to find the ones you miss on the actual scrolling HOD list.
I always seem to catch a few nice ones a week this way I'd otherwise miss.
And the way some of these higher rangers I watch run sometimes it's well worth the effort.
I also scan premarket leaders, especially paying attention to ones that hit the leader board late near the open.
Also I note the stocks that were on the afterhours leader list but don't appear on the pre leaders list or are late hits to it.
Also 15/20 minutes before open I run through all my Scott watchlists and look only at stocks that have premarket volume and the bid is at or over the previous closing price with the ask quite a bit higher than the bid.
This is another reason I like to keep so many watcthlists because many of these I don't see on any other premarket leader lists and some really do run well.
Earnings news and drug news (RIGL whoa!) off the premarket lists I pay very close attention to.
OLDER AND SOME VERY RECENT IPO'S I SCAN FOR POPS
So I keep a list of 20 on Scott of ones I feel have the moves from time to time.
The first 4 are new in the last couple of days.

In the about 3 weeks I've tested during live trading there have been really good setups everyday.
I realize some folks like the higher priced ones, maybe something to take a look at.
A SITE I REALLY LIKE
Chartinator, the moderator over there seems to be a real stand up guy, plus his charting, advice, and trading abilities also seem to be outstanding.
They have opened a portfolio over there and they started with $2000 on 11/03.
After the last closed trade on 12/6 the port stands at 15,438!
There is no pump crap that I've ever seen there and all trades are posted with the exact trade alert prices and exits.
I think there is a lot one could get out of this site. Here's the link if you'd like to check it out HERE.

How the Hell Does He Do This?
Running the stat scan nightly is a great way to learn stocks as you see many of them time and time again hit the scan. Look at the charts and you start to build a "runners database" in your head. Then when stocks you know hit the HOD with volume/momo, you instinctively know what to do. Hit the buy button.
TSS 12/6 -LOST 8% 1 DAY/10% 2 DAY/FAILURES

TSS 11/30
This is the one I run every night.
It's the lost8% 1 day/lost 10% 2 day/failures scan.
Myself I have it set at:
close is between 1 and 15
average volume(10) above 250000
Also I rank them in order of their frequency top to bottom by number of times they have run 10%+ in the last 100 days.
I like to have at least 20 watches so you'll see in order to get 20 I needed to drop price down to .50 to get the last 2 matches.
So if you are following along I have this watch list today plus the lists from the basic TSS that I only run once a week for Monday thru Friday and the list of momos (8%+) from the last 3 days off both those 2 lists I just mentioned.

TSS UPDATE 11/29
That is why I keep 2 day's previous lists still loaded on my watchlist and 3 days worth of the momos off each respective list. (Where PEIX came from.)
Here's how I use the whole concept of the TSS.
(1). Run the 1 day 8%/2 day 10% lost/failures list EVERY night and load the top 20 in order of times they have run 10% or more in the last 100 days.
(2). Run the basic stat display once a week on the weekend and load all stocks in order of times hit 10-19% down to and including only 7 hits in 100 days.
(3). I keep 2 previous day's lists of (1) explained above and a list of the momo runners off the list from the past few days.
Today's 1 minute PEIX chart.
That whole list today.Market not that great but these were pretty good.
A shot of the (1) method described above that shows todays watches.
As I've said before if you're a daytrader this stat scan seems to give me a huge edge

RE:FAILURES AND BACK LISTS
VXGN was down 25%, TA 23%, CAMH 18%
All 3 of these were up nice today, VXGN 22%, TA 6%, CAMH a whopping 70% and catchable as it crossed $1 just after 10:30.
I not only spotted it on the high of day list but on my other monitor as I was "flipping" through my watchlists.
Which brings up another point.
I keep a few days worth of all my lists and every 10 minutes or so to give my eyes a rest from the rolling hod list I quickly flip through every list I have to scan for stocks that look to be on a move with volume.
While on that same list with CAMH I saw FXPE was up a few % at 1.14, bid/ask flipping which I term getting "jiggy".
In about 90 minutes it ran to 1.33.
This was a bonus of keeping a few back lists as I never once saw it hit the hod list.

COMBINING FOR A BIG EDGE
Here's a screen shot of the 8% gains I had on watch today.
Btw, QSC that you see on it has been on the list since a close of 1.92
And I first picked it up on 11/12 at 1.50 RIGHT OFF THE HOD LIST WITH SURGING VOLUME.
The hod list as you know is invaluable for me
Here's a screen shot of my 8% losers list I had on watch today.
This thing rocked today! 7 double digit gainers today!
Needless to say with these 3 lists I ripped it today.
I said this exactly 1 month ago in my Oct 14 post: "THESE PAST 6 WEEKS HAVE BEEN THE BEST DAYTRADING MARKETS I HAVE EVER SEEN".
And nothing has seemed to change.
FAILURES AND THE STAT SCAN
TRO STAT SCAN 11/14
If you look at yesterdays list there are a few on this list that I refer to as "failures"
These are ones that failed to close up for the day.
These can be some of the biggest runners once they hold a % or 2 green.
Note that there can be 1,2,3 day and even longer failures!

I WANT STATS AND AN EDGE
They all add up if you want to become a better trader.
Unless you are a personal friend of mine I want every edge I can get over YOU!
Don't get me wrong,I want everyone to do well or else I wouldn't blog and try to share everything I know.
It's nothing personal,I just need that aggressive attitude to trade the best I can.
And I respect and admire anyone that I feel trades better than me,no jealousy whatsoever because they have no doubt worked for it and have found their edges.
Case in point is a trader in our chat, Loki.
I have no doubt in my mind Loki is a better trader than I am.
I know that he has worked hard and I bet he'd tell you the same about his "edges".
The scan below in the last post imo is awesome for giving one an edge.
It was written by Avery, aka Therumpledone, who many know as an awesome coder.
Over the last 4+ years he has helped me out tremendously and this scan "display" for me is his best work yet in giving me,as a daytrader, a big edge in finding potential big gains on runners off green hits.
The thing is, I know most of these runners, but only because I've been trading for so long and study the charts of the high dayrangers and momo stocks.
But if I was newer to this type of trading this display filter I'd consider worth it's weight in gold.
There is no other way to learn more potential runners faster and easier.
So anyway these are the ones I've come up with as having the best odds of giving a nice gain on a green hold.
Average volume (10) I adjusted to 250000k.
These have lost at least 10% in the last 2 days:
ASTIZ SCON ACUR MXOM JSDA LLNW JADE FXPE WCI LUM NINE CPSL TMTA EEE PTT CRDC BONT SCA CDS QXM
These have lost 8% in the last one day:
PLX FMT VG CHVC ONSM NTWK CSIQ ESLR MIVA NDN SATC DFC

WATCH LISTS
I've run these same filters every day over the past 6 years and believe me it has given me knowledge of stocks that have potential to run.
There are new chat logs posted for last Mon though Thurs.
Many recent Ipo's have been literally zooming, it pays to list them and watch them if you have the time and are knowledgeable in that area.
On watch Monday is lowfloater ANTP, earnings were released after the close on Friday.
This stock has run huge at times in the past.
Not for the faint of heart and only if you can watch closely during the day if it starts to run.
I continue to put daytrading profits into mutual fund CGMFX and last week opened a position in etf FXI in which I also hopefully will long term with daytrading profits

MOMO STOCKS: Why You Have to Watch the HOD List
Look at Muddy's MOMO watch list that he loaded for today. Nice stuff. Price and volume. Price and volume. That's all that counts on Momos. Chat reopening soon. See you there! And 32 out of 40 on the ADR list (swishy stocks) were up.

And I'm not talking 1-2 percenters, most all were up and down HUGE. Go ahead, run the lists on your quote box. Unbelievable.......don't think I have ever seen anything this good.
Awesome job Slot!

This is where my ideas came from for this long port.

Rocking Stocks in the Chat Room Today
Super calls on SHOR, ELON, BQI, DYII, OTD, TNRO, ANTP and many others.
For example:
Muddy called TNRO at 1.68, closed at 2.02.
Loki called ELON at around $20, closed 22.09.
Muddy called DYII at the exact breakout today. Take a look at the chart here. This is the power of the scrolling HOD list. He didn't even know the stock, but it was running. If you have to research and look at a yearly chart on these type you miss the run. I didn't play this one, but I took OTD when it starting running on the HOD list when Muddy gave the headsup:
(Jul 16-13:25) Muddy: OTD getting vol .40/.41
(Jul 16-13:25) Muddy: gotta be news
(Jul 16-13:26) Muddy: volume flying
(Jul 16-13:26) Loki: yes news
(Jul 16-13:33) Muddy: thnks loki
IS ANYONE else watching the HOD list? This is a MOMO chat room yet we have people putting up stocks with no reason give, or a 4 cent day range, or no volume at all. With 30-40 people in chat each day, seems like others would see stuff before Loki and Muddy sometimes but there is very little input from others except for a few.

Going Long RRI Darvas Box Update
Just made our last buy on July 5th, and yesterday RRI closed at 30.15, nearing the new top of 30.75 with an intraday high of 30.69. Of course we are waiting for a close above the top, just didn't expect it to get so close so fast. Up an incredible 60% in 4 months on the first 100 shares bought at 18.85. Up 31% on all 500 shares with an average cost of $23.00.
If you don't/can't daytrade, building a portfolio of stocks like this can be the way to go. Averaging up into the strong ones and cutting the non-performers can be a very profitable strategy. Very low stress trading; I go days without looking at this one. In fact, I couldn't watch the HOD list Friday and wouldn't have seen RRI except someone mentioned it in the chat room.
Previous post here.

Muddy's Going Long Update
Now I know that he has the "Need for Speed"; the rush he gets from day trading. (Hmmm, come to think of it I know someone else like this.......)
So after he bought, just to help him out you understand, I made it a true "Buy and Hold" portfolio and changed his password on this account. Truly, I did it for his own good!

TRADES FOR 7/10/07
It is just to show that in that environment it's still possible to make some money.
And yes, I know a ton of stocks and yes, it takes a method(s) that you are familiar with and that you have confidence in.
Also it takes some hard work but that's why it feels so good when you do finally find your way imo.

Former runners revisited
Knowing different stocks that have demonstrated big daily price increases in the past is one of the keys to finding opportunities when using the scrolling HOD list method. How do you develop such a list? It comes in time if your an active trader. Running the average day range filter once or twice per week can offer a good starting point for developing a list if your new to day trading. See Muddies post at the right under "Filters I use" It's number 3.
Here is an example of knowing a former runner and how to catch it:
On Thursday, notice TECUA pop up on my HOD list just before the market opened. Having traded the stock in the recent past I knew it had the ability to run big at times and pre market activity for it was rare. Initiated a position in pre after a quick chart / volume check and added to it just after the open when continuation of the run was obvious.
A check of the daily chart shows the big pops the stock had back in May of this year, it was alerted in chat also during that time period.
Knowing former runners and monitoring the hod list for appearances is a simple and effective way to find trading opportunities. See Muddies post for more information here:

Stock Tools We Use
Answer is, practically nothing that costs money. I know a lot of people subscribe to high priced chart packages, news feeds, and other miscellaneous paid things. If it works for you, that's great. But it truly seems that a lot of people are more interested in a filter that is going to make them rich, or in a filter that is so good that they don't have to scan a few charts, than in finding a couple dozen good candidates from a simple scan and then watching the HOD list and price action.
Simple works best for Muddy, and I am a believer in this too. Besides commissions, the we pay for is $8.95 a month for Stockfetcher, the biggest bargain out there in the stock scanning universe we think.
We use:
8.95, Stockfetcher
free, Prophet.net for CHARTS, no RT, delayed
free, Bigcharts.com for NEWS and CHARTS
free, SCOTTRADE HOD list which is the greatest in the world!
free, Upcoming IPOs
free, EARNINGS
free, PREMARKET and AFTER HOURS trading
Send us better freebies! I know they are out there.
Going Long - RRI - Darvas Box Play
We found this stock in March and the chart looked good. To be honest, I can't remember how we tweaked the filter, but we found it by tweaking this filter on the first GOING LONG post with good volume and price staying above the MA(20). I think we liked this one since it had huge volume and was up around 50% in 6 months.
Anyway, we decided to buy it and play it with a modified Darvas box strategy. Meaning average up if the price continues to make new highs. (Apologies to Nicholas Darvas for my oversimplification, it's been a long time since I read his book.)
We bought 100 shares on 03.19 at $18.85. The prior close was $18.84 so we set the next box top at 10% over that, $20.72. When it closed above that on 03.22, we bought another 100 shares at the open at 20.12 (just luck on that entry due to a gap down that morning), and so on. We are now long 400 shares. Closed over the box top at $27.95 yesterday, so will buy another 100 at the open tomorrow.
Mental stop of 8-10% on the average share price. Up 28.4% in 3 1/2 months on the average cost of $21.77. Nice.

Imo, running these lists month after month, year after year gives one a tremendous feel for the market in general, sectors, former past runners, stocks that are being followed ("live watches") etc.
I have gotten a huge edge I believe from doing this simple task over time.
Trading , especially trading for a living requires one to have an edge over the general public.
This is mine.

FAST AND FURIOUS MOVES ON RECENT IPO$
Every once and awhile a recent IPO will just bust out with a fast and furious move.
Luckily I was at the HOD list when it happened on back to back days last Thursday and Friday.
I caught both right at very near their beginning runs for very good quick profits on both.
Thursday there was INFN and Friday was LLNW.
Look at these MOVES!!
MACE, something up or not? Don't know
Anyone have info?? Here is all I know:
MACE in the past has run huge on news. Not too exciting the past couple of years, (actually really boring now) but before that, it was an "Oh Baby" stock. Ran huge at times like ABLE, GEOI, GOAM, and TBUS.
The site I use says it reports earnings tomorrow, 07/02/07. Can't find it on other earnings calendars, so caution here. But, I read that they had accounting (aka embezzlement) problems and haven't reported YE 2006 yet.
Average volume 22 days is 11,000, 100 days is 19,000 shares. On Thursday, it traded 6,950 shares. On Friday, 06/29/07 it traded up 4% with 305,000 shares traded. Pretty big volume increase.
Fundamentals don't look too bad either for one of these small cap POS stocks. If I felt like doing real due diligence I would go visit them since they are headquartered a few miles from where I work. But Muddy's laziness is rubbing off on me and I am sure I won't do that.
Going Long Update
I'm a few weeks late on the long port update but here we go; re-balancing this weekend. I am going to use the closing prices on Friday, 6/29/07.
Quick recap on the huge winners so far:
CF up 107%, annualized gain is 256%
TRA up 84%, annualized gain is 202%
NAVZ up 60%, annualized gain is 144%
We started with $100,000 on 1/29/07 and the port is worth $113,690. That's 13% in 5 months, so the port is up 32.8% annualized. AVCI killed us. If that one had just been breakeven the port would be up about 41% annualized. But this is a buy and forget it paper portfolio so no worries. If I were playing this strategy for real (which is in the works), a 20% stop would be what I would do.
Cutting these: NTY RYI RKT AVCI DYN FRG SBGI TTEC
Adding these: KMGB BPHX GTLS LPHI ICOC GTI IMMR
I stuck to the original filter (search "Going Long" for the other posts about this port) and then saw bunches of Episodic Pivot breakout stocks on the list. Thank you Pradeep, new port heavily weighted to these babies.
Anyone else playing this kind of port? I think we should be adding to the CF and TRAs as we cut the losers. We haven't done this with this port trying to keep the returns simple to see. But I think we should.

STOCKS I'M LOOKING TO BUY
Because I daytrade from the same basic account amount week after week, whatever I have left at the end of 6 weeks after living expenses I roll into an IRA type account for the long haul.
This week I will buy a few of these to add to that account.
They are at or near their 52 week highs, they have not violated the 20SMA in awhile and many have hopefully just started a fresh run after having a b/o that included volume and news/earnings.

RVNG - A GREAT EXAMPLE OF A FORMER 0 VOLUME STOCK
I keep using the same few methods over and over and they continue work year after year.
I've been posting about recent 0 volume stocks for 4 years now and how once they get attention from the street they have the possibility to be fliers.
RVNG a 0 volume on 5/23 has had an incredible 7 day run since 5/31 after HITTING 1.8 MILLION SHARES FROM THE PREVIOUS DAYS 10K VOLUME.
That is a huge leap in vol but amazingly on Friday it had its highest volume day yet,6.5 million!
In that 7 day period the price has gone from .78 to 1.54
If you look to the right on the blog under "important posts" you'll see "Former Zero Volume Stocks".
It's been up there from the start of the blog, this angle can be a huge edge and you won't find it on many blogs but for myself it's one of my favorite methods of all time.

AH+Earnings=OoooooBaby
It's basically for those who keep a close eye on Pre n AH, I found it useful to make a list of stocks that appeared on Pre and Ah because of their positive earnings. Not only, such stocks, run well that day there are strong chances that they might start running again within a period of few days/ weeks. Some may gap up tht day, go down the next and start moving up again.
Forexample
CPWR appeared on Ah -MAy/15/07
HSOA -Ah on May/9/07
There were many includin AIRM,FWLT,NDN(yest)andVDSI (today) to name a few. It may not always happen this way but FDA approval for Pharma/Bio, earnings along with pre /ah can be the rule of thumb.
